Professional Interests

Prior to going to medical school I worked as a paramedic in Southern California for over 10 years, responding to 911 calls. EMS has always been the root of my interest in Emergency Medicine and I continued my involvement with EMS after starting my career as an EM physician. I am currently the medical director for multiple Counties in Southern California EMS agencies including San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

Research Interests

I feel that EMS suffers from paucity of robust research addressing specific EMS related questions without assuming that what works in a hospital should work in the field. I hope to chip away at this a bit with the help of some highly motivated and interested residents

Personal Interests

I hold a private pilot’s license with an instrument rating and spend as much time as I can flying my Cirrus SR22 aircraft for work and pleasure. I would like to add that Cirrus is the only aircraft that comes standard with a whole plane parachute system as a safety feature.
